About this site
NAS Drive Compatibility exists to answer one question without forum archaeology: which drives does my NAS officially support?
Where the data comes from
Every compatibility row on this site is read from Synology's official hardware compatibility list (synology.com/compatibility). Our pipeline re-reads the entire list daily — currently covering 251 Synology models and 1519 drive part numbers — and republishes it as searchable, filterable pages (data last refreshed 2026-10-29).
What we add
Synology publishes the raw list; we make it usable: per-machine summaries, capacity distributions, part-number-level pages, series pages (IronWolf, Red Pro, N300…), head-to-head comparisons, and plain-English buying guides. All analysis is derived from the official list — we don't guess, and drives not on the list are never presented as certified.
Editorial standards
- If a page says a drive is compatible, Synology's list says so — check the source link on every model page.
- Buying recommendations are based on line positioning (CMR status, workload class, warranty) from public vendor documentation.
- We don't host vendor files or images; all illustrations on this site are generated programmatically.
